Our Team
Challenge The Wild XL was established in 2021 by Dan Searson and John Kilner.
Dan has spent the past thirty years exploring the outdoors. During his military career, he was deployed to the Balkans, East Africa and the Middle East; and led expeditions around the world. He was awarded several British Army Commendations during his service. He has extensive experience in event management and medical planning, and has personally run challenges for many high-profile organisations. Dan thrives on working closely with our clients; ensuring they achieve their aims through a rigorous approach to planning and delivery
John is General Practitioner based in the Lake District and has interests in sports and expedition medicine. He serves as a Medical Officer in the Army Reserve, a role which has seen him travel extensively on deployments and exercises. John is keen fell runner, avid hiker and long-distance cyclist. He has a passion for the outdoors and is never happier than when leading others and supporting the rest of the team during expeditions or challenges. He also subscribes to the benefits the outdoors can bring to a person's mental health.
Dan and John are supported by the highly experienced team at Challenge The Wild, who ensure their vision is delivered to the highest standard.
